Alberto Tomba was born in Bologna on 19th December 1966; he is one of the greatest world champions of downhill  skiing in the history.

He has been the main alpine ski character from 1986 to 15^th March 1998,  with particular reference to the following specialities: slalom and giant slalom.

He boasts about fifty World Cup victories in all, he is the third ski racer with a great string of successes after Ingemar Stenmark and Hermann Maier.

Thanks to all his World Cup victories and in the Olympic and World competitions he is considered one of the greatest sportsmen of all  times.
